Phil Mulligan
Phil’s fascination with everything high voltage began early in his life. He started apprenticing at his father’s electrical contracting company while he was in junior high school. After studying electrical engineering at the University of Portland, Phil returned to Maui and obtained his electrical contractor’s license. While wiring some of the finest homes on Maui with power, Phil realized that he could provide his clients with yet another kind of power: user-friendly home electronics. Phil started Pacific Audio & Communications in 1991, helping homeowners achieve their goal of integrated home control and entertainment systems.

Pat Mulligan

Patrick’s love for electronics began after high school when he joined the Army’s 82nd airborne division. He was a Satellite Communications Technician and dealt with multi-million dollar equipment repairs and mission critical deployments around the world as part of the Robin Sage Special forces group. After his 8 years of service, he graduated from DeVry Technical Institute with a degree in Electronics Engineering. Soon after, he joined his brother Phil back on Maui to help run the technical and operations side of Pacific Audio & Communications. Patrick has 30 years of electronics engineering experience, with 20 of those 30 years in the electronics systems industry. Patrick has numerous industry certifications and achievements, has participated in many industry round table discussions, and has influenced many manufacturers over the years regarding what the electronic systems industry needs in order to grow. His mission-critical attitude is reflected in the way Pacific Audio & Communications runs its projects today. Pat is very involved with the Maui community. He is the deputy commander of the USAF Aux. Maui County Composite Squadron 057/Civil Air Patrol, retired Co-founder and volunteer Chairman for Kihei 4th friday after 5 yrs and is currently on the board of directors for K4f. Juan Pablo
Automation processes and the integration of sound and light have always intrigued Juan Pablo, since re-wiring his first Technics speakers to different sources and creating lighting scenes as a teenager for home staged ‘auditions’. Juan Pablo brings a diverse background, with a degree in Industrial Engineering, a self-taught carpenter, farmer and surfboard shaper. He worked managing manufacturing processes at a carpentry production plant. Then transferred his skills to the food industry performing Quality Control and laboratory work at Kilauea Agronomics, where he assisted with the automation of the plant’s processing and pasteurization systems. He also worked in the Hospitality industry, starting at The Grand Hyatt Kaua’i and traveling to New Mexico, with his last position in that industry at The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui. During his time in Maui, he met Phil Mulligan and became friends. Eventually returning to Kaua’i and joining the Team at Pacific Audio in early 2019. Juan Pablo grew among a family of musicians, appreciating sound and sound reproduction. Juan Pablo is most excited about the power of seamless tailored automation and integration, specially the power that a well-designed home theater holds to tell a most powerful story.

Ryan King

Ryan’s career started in 1987 while still in high school, wiring tract homes for security systems and NuTone intercoms. Throughout the 90’s he worked in Silicon Valley installing Dolby 2.0 surround systems and the earliest automation systems in larger estates. After a short stint doing commercial AV work he returned to luxury residential integration with Engineered Environments, becoming the first Hawaii based employee starting their Kona office in 2004. He started King Integration with his wife Lorela in 2010 continuing to collaborate with the local design/build community until 2019. Having known Pat, Phil, and Kale as peers for many years, he decided to join forces with the PAC ohana so he could focus more on client relationships and project management. Pono Nauka

Pono’s career began in 1997 in Arizona.  There he learned multiple aspects of the consumer electronics industry while working on high-end residential projects.  After a few years, the opportunity to move home to Hawai'i and his initial stint with Pacific Audio began.  In the years that followed, Pono worked to master all aspects of the industry and has spent time in every role it has to offer, all the while, creating strong relationships with many in the design/build community.  After helping several companies expand and become successful, he has found his way back to where it began for him in Hawai'i, with Pacific Audio.  When not at work, Pono enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
