Transforming Hotels and Destinations with Distributed Audio Systems

The Combined Power of LEA Amps and PAC

At Pacific Audio & Communications, we've specialized in designing, integrating, and installing commercial and home automation and entertainment systems since 1991. We recently had the pleasure of integrating a distributed audio system at Lilia Waikiki, a stunning 28-story residential tower home to over 400 residences in Honolulu, HI.

These luxury apartments and penthouses are one of Waikiki's newest rental destinations, incorporating over 40,000 square feet of retail spaces. Our job was to provide the sound for this mixed-use development. To accomplish this, we integrated LEA amps, Dante-enabled smart amplifiers that delivered the power we needed.

Here, we'll explore what a distributed audio system brings to the table for condos and hotels and how we delivered a system that followed tenants through every touchpoint.

The Task

Our job was to create an audio system that followed the tenant through every building touchpoint. It welcomed them in the lobby, followed them to the mailboxes and onto the elevator, recreation deck, and more. It had to power all the complex's common areas and, because of the length of time the audio system ran, it needed to be extremely stable and reliable.

The result was a lineup of 23 speakers in five different models and three LEA Connect Series 168D Dante-enabled smart amplifiers. This 8-channel amplifier with 160 watts per channel is the world's first IoT-enabled professional-grade amplifier.

We had amplifiers on the first and ninth floors of the complex. However, thanks to their web browser-based UI, we could adjust the amps while on different floors, an extremely convenient feature. Using amplifiers that took up little rack space and allowed us to use five different models of speakers was a game changer.

LEA amps and the Connect Series proved to be a unique product that we're excited to use in our projects, ones we've already specified for upcoming installations.

Transforming a Space With a Distributed Audio System

Few technologies can transform a space more dynamically than a distributed audio system. These systems deliver high-performance music throughout your hotel, condo, or luxury apartments and are effortless to control. It creates a unique, memorable experience, bringing impressive sound to indoor and outdoor environments, following your guests or tenants wherever they go.

Sound influences humans in profound ways, changing their emotions and shaping their behaviors, and hoteliers are using it to engage with their guests and transform their experience. Integrating various zones in your all-encompassing audio system lets you play different audio in separate areas. This is particularly valuable in hotels with nightclubs, lounges, restaurants, gyms, and outdoor pool areas.

Your staff easily manages the system from one remote control or touchscreen, selecting the space and the audio source. These systems can also use automated noise compensation, detecting sound levels and automatically changing the background music levels to compensate.

At PAC, we partner with the best brands for source components, speakers, and amplifiers, ensuring we exceed our clients' expectations and provide them with a long-term and reliable return on their investment.
